What we do
All our mortgage advisers are paid a salary, rather than commission. So their only reason for recommending a mortgage is that it’s right for you.
Our advisers look at every mortgage from every available lender. So while there are lots of mortgages out there that you can only get direct from banks and building societies – we’ll look at these too, to make sure you end up with the mortgage that is right for your circumstances.
There is no charge for having a consultation with Which? Mortgage Advisers – and if the best deal for you is only available direct from the lender, we will let you know, and charge you nothing for our service.
Only if our team complete a mortgage for a customer will we charge an administration fee. This fee is currently £199 and is subject to change. To cover the cost of the advice we give – and other costs of running the business – we are paid a fee by some lenders on the completion of the mortgage. However, we also offer customers the option of paying us a fee of 0.5% of the loan, in which case we would rebate any fees we received from the lender.
Which? Mortgage Advisers is a trading style of Which? Financial Services Limited part of the Which? Group, which is in turn wholly owned by the Consumers’ Association, a registered charity, where independence and impartiality have been at the heart of what we do since our launch more than 55 years ago. All the profits that we make from our mortgage advice business go towards the work that we do campaigning on behalf of all consumers.
